Wow! I haven't posted anything for over a month. And it's not because I didn't have time. This past month has been one of the craziest of my entire life. I am living in a totally different part of the country. New state, new culture, new lifestyle. New EVERYTHING. I can't even begin to list the differences between our life in Indy and our life in Alexandria. My heart is still in Indianapolis, and I'm waiting for it to show up here.
For the sixth time in our married lives we have moved. The first five times we were unpacked, with pictures on the walls, ready to go, in a few days. This time I still have no idea where several things are, I have several corners full of pictures and decorations, and I don't really care :).
This past month has been spent sleeping in, crying, trying new recipes, driving around aimlessly trying to figure out where everything is, sight seeing, getting lost, decorating two extra bathrooms that I never had, and hanging out all day with two cute puppies! My proudest moment was when I rode the metro to downtown DC all by myself! That's right people, you heard it here! It was a huge accomplishment for me. I just didn't make eye contact and acted like I had done this a hundred times before. :)
I am happy to report Bryan LOVES his job. Of course, I am so happy for him. It is very evident he is working in a wonderful firm for some incredible people. And it seems that they are all very pleased with Bryan's work and already love him. Who wouldn't? Through all those years of school, I just knew that he would be an amazing attorney. And God has truly blessed us. It's just unheard of for an Indy graduate to get such a prestigious position within six months of graduating. I believe it is because of Bryan's faithfulness all throughout school. He never missed a service or soulwinning because of school. I still don't know how he did it, but I am truly thankful for a husband who puts God first.
Just a week until we go home! And by "home" I mean, Louisville and Indianapolis. We have two families now. By blood and by choice. I forsee a lot of hugs in my near future! I absolutely cannot wait!
I am not working now, which is a dream come true, but I never thought it would happen this way. It's just so weird for me. I am still adjusting to this new lifestyle. Sleeping till whenever, trying new recipes, playing with the dogs, working out, shopping, pinning...it's just weird.
I am working on getting a schedule going, and blogging will be on that new schedule. So stay tuned....
This describes my life perfectly...ever changing. I grew up in Louisville and met and married my husband. We moved to Indianapolis in 2008 after he was accepted to law school. Now, two months after he was sworn in we are moving to Washington, DC, where he will be working for a firm. Life Ever Changing. Where will life take us next?

Our Last Weekend in Indy
Where to begin? It was such a wonderful, sad, fun, emotional weekend. I was so excited to go to the couples' Valentines Banquet Friday night. It was the perfect opportunity to see everyone before we left for DC. It was a casual, at the church, banquet. The food was wonderful, and the atmosphere was really fun and just laid back. We got to sit with some of our closest friends, which was a bonus.
We had had plans to go out Saturday night with our best friends and our adopted parents for the last time before we left. We rode with Cliff and Hilda to meet Paul and Ash at Max & Erma's. On the way in we were just chatting and enjoying each other. I walked around the corner to find 50 of our dearest friends yelling, "Surprise"!!!! My initial reaction...sobbing. Bryan's...smiling and waving. That pretty much sums out how the two of us are handling this big change! :) I was just in total shock! All of these people were here for me. All of them love me! I was out of control crying until I spent about five minutes in the bathroom, and then the fun began. I am still amazed that everyone kept it a surprise. It was so wonderful, everything from the Uncle Sam hat cake to the personal touches with pictures and banners. I do feel truly blessed to have had all of these people in my life for the past three and a half years. I was more thankful than ever for all my friends, but at the same time sadder than ever that I had to leave these friends. Knowing all of them has changed me personally. I will never be the same again.
Sunday was our last one here. The morning service was awful. I barely made it through. I did so well in the evening service until eventually it was announced that this was it for us. My positive attitude at that moment was gone. Then began the hugging the rest of the church who have had such an impact on our lives. By the time I got home I ultimately just felt thankful that I was able to make it through the weekend.
So, this weekend was one of the best ever, but one of the most sad. I will truly miss you, Lighthouse Indy. Thank you for everything. We won't lose touch.

The Day After Surgery
It has been a little over 24 hours since I awoke from my hysteroscopy/laperoscopy. No, I don't exactly know what that means either. Other than that my doctor wanted to do this surgery to increase my chances to become pregnant. We have been trying for 19 months, with medication after medication, to no avail. This was the next step. The goal of the surgery was to "stimulate" my ovaries and also just do a little exploring. Basically, my body does not ovulate on its own. While he was in there he found some endometriosis and removed that and a polyp from my fallopian tube. Hopefully all of these being done will produce that baby we have been praying for and yearning for for so many months. So as lay here not being able to move without outside help, I think, yep, its worth it.

Another Change
Another big change occurred in my life today. It was my last day of work for an indefinite period of time. I didn't realize until today how excited I was about this. There was definitely a mix of emotions today, but ultimately I am ready to stay home with my little dogs, try new recipes, take my couponing to the extreme, and, of course, sleep in. Not gonna lie. I never dreamed I would stay home until, one day, I was home with a baby. I'll take it though. Just my way to "support" my husband in his new career venture! I feel truly blessed to have this premature (according to me) opportunity. Sure, this move is going to go beyond anything I have ever experienced, but this is my silver lining!

Yes, I discovered Pinterest a couple days ago. Ya know what it reminds me of? Does anyone else love to read about fitness and diets with the full intent to use the helpful information you read to become the slim, trim woman you have always wanted to become? Well, its very similar to Pinterest. You pin cute DIY projects, fun and easy recipes, and new outfit combinations. But that is the extent of it. Pinning it. No follow through. Funny. I still find Pinterest awesome, amazing, and addicting though! I vow here and now to actually follow through on at least one of the ideas that I pin! :) Haven't visited Pinterest? That needs to change, and soon!

Another New Chapter
The next chapter of my life is already beginning. My husband and I are moving to Washington, DC at the end of February. We have been married for seven and a half years. We both grew up in Louisville and moved to Indianapolis in 2008 for law school. Bryan has been an attorney for three months and has accepted a position with a firm in DC. So, 9 months after we bought our first house we will be moving! It is still very scary at this point. The scary is not whether my husband has a good job or whether this is a wonderful opportunity. The scary is the unknown. I will not be working, focusing on the fertility treatments I am right in the middle of. I have been working since we got married. What am I supposed to do with that extra 40 hours a week? Sure, my house will be sparkly clean, I will be able to expand my cooking abilities, and satisfy my couponing addiction. But to be at home all day everyday with two little crazy dogs? Yes, kinda scary. So, new chapter, I'm scared of you, but as all of the other chapters have ended, I will be ok, and maybe even happy again.
